Ashok Kumar, today welcomed the news that Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council were to co-operate on a study of commuter transport needs in south and east Middlesbrough including a renewed look at the feasibility of the East Middlesbrough By-Pass.

Ashok said “I have been a supporter of the need for a bypass ever since I was a Middlesbrough Councillor- that’s nearly 22 years now. That support continues as I believe such a link is vital if we are to avoid grid-lock for future generations. I welcome the fact that both councils are now working together to commission a new study, a study I hope bears fruit.”
