Ashok's Work in Westminster 7th-11th July 2008

On Monday, Ashok wrote to the Home Office to ask "what mechanisms her Department has in place to monitor the treatment of failed asylum seekers after they return to their home country."

Minister of State Liam Byrne replied by saying that "The UK Border Agency does not proactively monitor the treatment of individual failed asylum seekers who return to their home country unless there are exceptional circumstances that warrant doing so. Rather, we do not return those who are at risk."
